A. Answer: Insurance excess on all vehicles except minibuses is £800.00. You have the option to reduce the excess on your hire vehicle at a cost of £9.90 per day, this reduces the excess to £150.00. This is payable at the time of collecting the rental vehicle. Insurance excess on minibuses is £1000.00. You have the option to reduce the excess on your hire vehicle at a cost of £9.90 per day, this reduces the excess to £250.00. This is payable at the time of collecting the rental vehicle.

Q. can l self drive a 7.5 t vehicle
A. Answer: Yes if you have a full uk Driving licence which co-incides with all our terms and conditions regarding driving licences and you have the required CI catagorie on your driving licence

Q. can i leave my car there over night
A. Answer: All of our depots have parking on site for our self drive customers. Q. Can I get a refund if I cancel a booking?
A. Answer: All cancellations must be submitted in writing or by email to the relevant branch. Cancellation notifications sent outside normal working hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) shall be deemed sent at the date and time they are opened on the next working day. When notification is more than 72 hrs prior to the commencement of the vehicle rental a refund less 30% will be made. When notification is less than 72hrs but more than 24hrs a refund less 60% will be made. Notification less than 24hrs or failure to show will result in no refund given. Britannia Lanes Self Drive will not refund any unused rental days.

Q. What do I bring with me when I pick th van u,p
A. Answer: Drivers must be between 25 and 75 years of age and able to produce a full, valid, UK driving licence held for at least twelve months. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving licence. Drivers must not have had their drivers licence suspended for 3 months during the past year, or 6 months during the past 3 years, or have more than 6 points on the licence. If you hold a photocard type licence please also bring the counterpart which holds details of any points or convictions. To be able to hire a 7.5 ton vehicle you must have held a full UK drivers licence (category C) prior to 1997 or hold a valid LGV licence, for further information contact the relevant branch. To be able to hire a minibus you must have held a full UK drivers licence (category D) prior to 1997 or hold a valid PSV licence. All hirers/drivers must be able to produce a recent utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months. if the vehicle has bee booked online then the rental voucher must be presented when picking up your rental vehicle. We cannot be held responsible for rentals rejected if a voucher is not presented. You should retain your rental documents for a minimum of 28 days after returning home.

Q. If I pick up a van from Truro at 3pm and return it at 12.00 two days later will I be charged for two days or three days.
A. Answer: This will be a three day hire, but give Paul a call on 01872 560147 and he will confirm van availability and prices

A. Answer: All fuel used must be replaced on return of the hire vehicle.

Q. What does a normal car licence cover you up to in tonnes?
A. Answer: A full UK driving licence will normaly allow you to drive a vehicle upto 3.5 tonne, but please check the catagories as displayed on your driving licence with the DVLA web site to view any driving restrictions.

A. Answer: No all our vehicles are hired for use within the UK mainland only

A. Answer: Yes all our vans are covered by a nationwide breakdown service who in the unlikely effent of a breakdown will get you up and running in no time. All contact details for the breakdown service are printed on our self drive agreament which will be given to you when you collect the hire vehicle.

A. Answer: The best rate for Lutons are booked online and this can vary from £80 down to £34 for a Luton vehicle when booked up to 4 weeks in advance. Please be aware there is a 100 mile limit on milage per day, after that milage is charged at 10pence per mile. A. Answer: The normal minimum age for rentals is 25 however we may in exceptional circumstances be able to lower the age limit slightly.

A. Answer: There is a limit of 100 miles per day after that they are charged at 10 pence per mile for up to 3.5 t vehicles and 15 pence per mile for 7.5 t vehicles. Please contact your local for any further information required.
